We are entering our 16th year and are continuing to grow and evolve with the game of basketball. “Be a Lead” Camps are designed to take your overall officiating to the next level! So whether you are just starting out, a High School or college official with aspirations to get to the next level of league or playoffs, we have the camp for you!

As a FIBA and Euroleague referee, I am always trying to improve and look for new experiences. That's the reason I subscribed to BAL. I was looking for :

Be a Lead really allowed me to integrate myself among the other campers. This made me feel comfortable and was greatly appreciated. It took many email exchanges to make this trip a reality and I am glad it worked out because it was just a great all around experience. I will be working hard with our federation to bring the BAL staff to France and conduct a camp in the near future. At BAL I was able to learn how they approach, teach and manage game situations. The DVD tool was fantastic! A whistle is a whistle anywhere in the world but how it's used is a whole different story. I have been to many different camps and I firmly believe Be a Lead is among the true leaders worldwide when it comes to teaching and placing the campers needs first! Thanks BAL staff!
Camp Experience
Classroom
Classroom sessions are conducted by our highly qualified and experienced BAL staff. Each class will provide our campers the latest techniques, floor coverage mechanics, rules, and proper application.
Video Breakdown
The best tool to an official’s growth and increase call accuracy is VIDEO! All campers will be given their own “take home” DVD. After each game, campers will be taken through a “breakdown” session of their game with experienced staff. This will enable campers to make the proper “adjustments” for their next game.
Rules Sessions
As officials we must be diligent with keeping up, knowing and understanding our game rules so that we can properly administer them. These breakout sessions will test your knowledge in an individual and a group setting. Do you know the Rules????
